Casa Serenidade is a stunning and recently refurbished stone cottage, situated midway between the countryside villages of Prazeres and Faja da Ovelha. As its name suggests, the villa enjoys a serene location overlooking the beautiful Madeiran countryside with views out to the ocean.

Designed in order to bring the outside into the inside, there are plentiful floor-to-ceiling windows surrounding the open plan living area that extends to the front terrace and alfresco eating area, winding around to the side and the built-in barbecue too. There is a high-tech kitchen with all the usual modern conveniences that you’d expect but also a built-in wine chiller and Nespresso coffee machine. The villa offers smart TV with a Netflix account for guests’ use in the lounge, a games room with table football and PlayStation 4, as well as air-conditioning in all the bedrooms. The three bedrooms occupy the part of the house that was the old cottage; two are on the first floor and feature en-suite shower rooms, and the other is on the ground floor and has an adjoining family bathroom.

Outside, there is a terrace with pool deck overlooking the surrounding countryside and sea. Manicured lawns lead down to the large pool and surrounding deck with sunbeds and sun-umbrellas. Casa Serenidade enjoys a fantastic position in the tranquil countryside, allowing for a real taste of Madeira. Walks are plentiful in the surrounding area and you can easily access 2 levadas that provide great walking conditions.

Close by, within walking distance, is a minimarket and snack- bar. Other restaurants and local bars can be found a little further away within a 5 minute drive to Prazeres, where you will find a greater selection. The resort of Calheta with its man-made beach, supermarket and more cafés and restaurants, is easily accessed via the expressway in 10 minutes driving time. An excellent choice for a relaxing retreat!
