The exterior

Just 300 metres from Vale do Lobo Praça, Villa Melodia do Mar offers stylish comfort in a superb setting. Overlooking the beach and the iconic Royal golf course 16^th hole, the villa is set on generous grounds with a pretty front garden. The pool and spacious terrace are beachside, so you can lie by the pool and listen to the sea.

By the free form pool (10m x 5) there is ample room for sunbeds as well as on the lawned garden area. There is a shaded al fresco dining and relaxation area, so you can enjoy the best of outdoor Algarve living. Above this area is the roof terrace, with room for chairs and sun loungers, which offers breath taking ocean views – perfect at any time of day. The poolside and roof terrace are bathed in sunshine from dawn to dusk and the sunset views from the roof terrace are absolutely stunning.

The living areas

The interior of the villa is all on one level. The entrance hall at Villa Melodia do Mar leads into the open plan living and dining room. The décor is relaxed and pleasing – just right for a beach house. The large wooden table seats 6 in comfort, there are several cosy sofas and a wide screen TV with Lazer TV providing a choice of international channels.

There is a games console (Xbox) iPod dock and DVD player. There are double sliding doors leading from the living room to the pool and terrace areas. There is Wi-Fi and also air conditioning throughout the villa for your comfort. For winter stays, the villa has heating throughout and a cosy, glassed fireplace in the living room.

The kitchen, overlooking the front garden and adjacent to the dining room is well equipped with coffeemaker, juicer, dishwasher, microwave and there is a gas Weber BBQ for those mellow summer meals. There is a separate utility room with washing machine, dryer and iron.

The bedrooms

There are 3 bedrooms in total, all en-suite and all with air conditioning. There are 2 double bedrooms – one with a four poster bed and en-suite bathroom with combined bath and shower. The second double room has a walk-in wardrobe and the en-suite has a walk-in shower. Both of these rooms also have direct access to the garden and terrace areas. The third bedroom is a double room with en-suite bath, shower and double sinks.

About the area

Should you be able to drag yourself away from the comforts of Melodia do Mar to explore, you will find the long golden Vale do Lobo beach literally opposite the villa. The famous Praça is approximately 300 m walk, and here you have a choice of restaurants and bars (such as Monty’s, Sandbanks, The Beach Bar, Breeze), for both day and night time, as well as the beach, with sunbeds and shade for hire and beachside restaurants. There is live music and entertainment each evening at the Praça.

The Resort boasts superb golf courses and health and beauty facilities at the Royal Spa. There is a tennis centre and supervised Kangaroo children’s club. Vale do Lobo is located on the beach area known as ‘Praia Vale do Lobo’ considered to be one of the finest beaches in the Algarve. From Vale do Lobo you can walk in an easterly direction to both ‘Praia do Ancao’ and ‘Praia do Garrao’ is through the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa which is a heritage protected area of lagoons and wet areas that support the local wildlife population. If you walk towards the west you pass Praia do Trafal and Praia do Almargem, following onto Praia Forte Novo and then onto the Quarteria stretch of beaches.
