Owned by the Raleigh family in the late 13th century, with many historic houses/gardens nearby. Luppitt, 3½ miles, has an interesting historic pub. World Heritage ’Jurassic Coast’ and beaches at Sidmouth, Branscombe, Beer and Seaton, 11 miles, and fossils at Lyme Regis and Charmouth, 15 miles. Golf, 3 miles. There are also many National Trust properties close by. Beach 14 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.
