Halikounas is the perfect destination for those after a peaceful Greek getaway, surrounded by the sublime Corfiot countryside with olive-clad hillsides, citrus orchards, beautiful vineyards, and quiet beaches at every turn. Other sublime beaches, such as Prasoudi and Kanouli, can be reached within a few minutes’ drive. You’re in the perfect spot for resort hopping. Just a ten-minute drive away is the larger village of Agios Matheos, perfectly picturesque with a locally run mini-market, butcher, and bakery. For a taste of something busier, Corfu Town is a forty-minute drive away, where you can get lost in the labyrinth-like streets, filled with historic architecture, world-class museums, and a diverse gastronomic scene.
