A distinctive staircase, with atmospheric lighting concealed beneath each stair tread, leads up to two further rooms, each with sliding glass doors leading to a private patio. Beautifully fitted walk-in wardrobes keep the bedrooms feeling spacious and serene, while the smart ensuite shower rooms are immaculately tiled and fitted to a very high specification.

Back on the ground floor, huge glass doors open out from the living area onto a covered terrace where you can unwind in the shade with a good book on comfy outdoor sofas. If you prefer a sunny spot, grab yourself one of the stylish loungers beside the sizeable private pool, conveniently heatable for those staying in the cooler seasons, and generally irresistible at all times of the year. The significant shallow section is an asset with younger guests.

The outside space has been cleverly landscaped with a combination of lush green lawns, pale grey patio stones, pristine white gravel and carefully chosen plants and hedging. A built-in barbecue provides the means to create simple outdoor meals and with a local mini-market within easy walking distance, you can be as impulsive as you like when it comes to deciding where and what to eat.

Although the marina, with its endless variety of dining possibilities, is close enough not to need a car if you’re happy to walk, it’s useful to have a vehicle should you decide to explore the lovely beaches, impressive golf courses and local towns and villages along this stretch of coast. Vilamoura beach is only a ten minute drive from the villa and has parking available as well as sun beds for hire and a snack bar and restaurant.
