The area is renowned for its outdoor pursuits, breathtaking scenery and its abundance of wildlife. There are plenty of walks literally on your doorstep, and the Sustrans Cycle Track, which stretches from Glencoe to Oban, runs right through the village.

Fort William, known as the ‘outdoor capital of the UK’, is only a short drive away, and the historic village of Glencoe is less than 2 miles. Nearby activities include mountain biking, climbing, skiing, snowboarding, kayaking, walking, golf and fishing. Take a boat trip to the isles of Mull & Iona, or cross on the Corran Ferry and spend a day exploring the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. Oban, Loch Ness and the Isle of Skye are within easy reach, and there are numerous unspoilt beaches, castles, museums and distilleries nearby that provide great days out. Although small, Ballachulish is home to a shop, post office, takeaway, restaurant and a bar. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.
