Settle down for dinner at the well-presented dining table, where you can tuck into your evening meal and plan the days ahead, before sinking into the plush sofas and cosying up around the electric wood burner. There is also the benefit of a lovely enclosed patio area, where you can catch the last glimpses of sunshine during a balmy evening in complete privacy.
As the evening draws to a close, venture up to the first floor to discover three, contemporary-styled bedrooms, comprising of a double, a twin and a bedroom with bunk beds. Each bedroom enjoys a bright colour palette, unique styling and ample storage for a week-long break, ensuring tranquil spaces to come back to each evening. The interior is completed by the well-appointed bathroom, where you will find a stylish claw-foot bath and rainfall shower.
If you can tear yourself away from this sublime base, a short stroll will bring you to a selection of pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as a choice of independent shops for picking up the essentials. Within the bustling town of South Molton, you will find the Quince Honey Farm, award-winning museums and a chocolate factory, each offering a wonderful family day out, and it’s the place for architectural antiques, collectibles and vintage clothing. You will also find an indoor market every Thursday and Saturday, offering local produce, crafts and clothing, making great gifts to bring back home.
For the more adventurous or active, why not spend the day enjoying exhilarating activities at the Rock and Rapid Adventure Centre on the outskirts of the town, or make full use of the town swimming pool just a short walk away.
South Molton is known as the ’Gateway to Exmoor’, so those feeling active can venture to the Exmoor National Park, where you can explore miles of moorland housing ancient geology sites, historical houses and an abundance of wildlife.
As well as the choice of beaches and a trip to the famous harbour town of Clovelly, there are also characterful coastal towns like Appledore, which also hosts a Book Festival held in September and the Two Moors Classical Music Festival in October. Being just a short trip away from the main North Devon Link Road, the town is easy to get to but also means exploring further afield is easy, and the only limitation is your imagination.
