Property Description
Dovercourt is a very old town listed within the Domesday Book of 1086, though the nearby historic port of Harwich is better known. Dovercourt Hall is a timber framed building with a wealth of exposed beams and an inglenook fireplace. The property was built around 1600, and is a Grade II listed building with further additions later in the 17th century. Originally built as a farmhouse, the surrounding land was farmed until the 1950s, and is now set in an acre of grounds with a natural pond. During the long history of the property, further renovations were carried out during 2015 which lead to the completion of Dovercourt Hall Cottage.
This delightful property, one of a pair, is adjacent to the owner’s home and comprises four bedrooms, a spacious living room with open fire and an open plan kitchen/dining area. Decorated and furnished to a very good standard, guests can enjoy up-to-date amenities but still admire the character and charm of this historic cottage. The large garden is the ideal place to sit out and enjoy a lovely summer’s evening with friends and family, hosting a barbecue and enjoying relaxing in the seating area.
