Property Description

Gannel Rise sits at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in a residential area of Newquay, with views over the Gannel Estuary and farmland. This detached house has its own self-contained one bedroom apartment, with access from the main house and its own private entrance, providing accommodation for parents or teenagers. With its own chicken run and hydrotherapy spa in the garden, you can while away the hours soaking in the spa while the chickens provide you with free eggs for breakfast. The house is finished to a very good standard, and a timber log garden house, which doubles as a games room with spin bike, cinema projector and screen, caps it off.

If you can bring yourself to leave the house, the town and surrounding area will not disappoint, with many attractions, both man-made and natural, being only a short stroll from your front door. The Gannel Estuary, a tidal river and home to sea birds, is a walker’s delight, and the local riding stables regularly take rides through the waters and along the coast. Newquay Zoo, a tennis club and an indoor swimming pool are a short walk away, as are the many beaches of Newquay. There are seven beaches in the town so you are spoilt for choice as they all provide different activities. Surf schools, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and jet skis are all bookable and lessons and hire are plentiful. Newquay also has a cinema for those inclement days and many great restaurants, pubs and bars, as well as great coffee shops and cafés.

Truro, the capital of Cornwall, is easily reached and is a must to explore the narrow streets and enjoy the restaurants, shopping, museum, cinema and theatre. Padstow, home to Rick Stein’s food empire, is a must visit for all the family. Wander around the streets that lead to the working harbour and enjoy the ambience provided by this traditional fishing village. A flat walking and cycling trail links the town to Wadebridge and hugs the shoreline of the beautiful Camel Estuary. Bike hire is available at both ends. A top tip is to ride from Wadebridge to Padstow and enjoy fish and chips from Steins Chippy on the harbour before the ride home. Other places to visit include the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and many National Trust gardens, parks and houses, including Lanhydrock House and Trerice Manor. St Ives, Falmouth, Fowey and Mevagissey can all be easily reached and provide an alternative day out. Beach 1 mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

This fabulous house has a hydrotherapy spa and a log cabin with a cinema projector – perfect for a family holiday in Newquay.
