Property Description

Situated in Elviria, a short drive to the east of Marbella’s centre, Casa Francia offers some spectacular views of the sea and mountains. With an expansive outdoor pool area and terraces across three floors, this beautiful 4-bedroom villa is spacious, stylish and just a few minutes from the beach.

Surrounded by trees and conifers, the pool terrace allows for plenty of privacy. The areas around the large swimming pool offer open and shaded seating areas, as well as a barbecue and sun loungers. The villa can accommodate eight guests, and there’s more than enough space here for everyone.

You can walk straight through from the pool terrace to the indoor games room with snooker table, and a lounge area. There is also a kitchenette with a fridge on this level – handy for your poolside drinks – and a laundry room. Two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms are on this floor, one is a twin and the other a double.

Go up a level, and you have the main lounge – a large, open-plan space with ample sofa seating, TV, a dining table and chairs and large windows. As well as being light and spacious, this room has access to a terrace with another dining area and more seating. The wonderful sea view is the perfect backdrop to an evening of dining, drinks and conversation. Glass curtains keep this space cosy in the winter months.

There is also a kitchen with a large fridge freezer, oven, breakfast bar and all the appliances you could want, and even chandelier lighting for another luxurious touch. Another double bedroom with en suite can be found on this level.

Finally, on the top floor, it’s the irresistible master bedroom, featuring a king-size bed, a walk-in wardrobe and an en suite with bathtub. And if you’re still not sure it’s the room for you, the views are stunning – just wander out on to the huge terrace first thing in the morning and see for yourself.

The many attractions of Marbella are within a short drive, so you’ll have no trouble exploring the richly historic Old Town, or nipping down to the marina at Puerto Banús to live it up. Marbella has everything from legendary nightlife to charming parks, boutique shopping and family fun, and its food and drink scene is one of the best you’ll find anywhere, with everything from churro stalls to innovative, award-winning restaurants.

The wider Andalucía region offers even more reasons to come. Spectacularly beautiful areas of nature like the Sierra de las Nieves National Park and inspiring cities like Ronda and Málaga rub shoulders with classic resorts such as Torremolinos and Benalmádena, so every day can offer something new.

Your stay in Marbella is sure to be a rewarding one. First-time visitors may be surprised by its diversity, but old hands will know that the reasons to return are many and varied. Whether you’re after a cultural break, nights of top-flight entertainment or excursions to stunning areas of nature, Marbella is an excellent choice.

Of course, it’s seriously good for beach life too. With numerous beach clubs and opportunities to try water-sports, it extends way beyond sunbathing. The enticing marina at Puerto Banús may well tempt you with its bars, clubs and designer stores, but it’s also a nice area just to hang out and enjoy the harbour views.

The Old Town is a must-see, with many historic buildings offering a glimpse into Marbella’s past. Look out for the 16th-century Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation, the Town Hall and the Magistrate’s House among others. The impressive architecture found around the Old Town gives it real character, as does its bustling Plaza de los Naranjos, or Orange Square. With street markets and plenty of café and restaurant terraces, this square is a real meeting point and the beating heart of the Old Town.

You will find Marbella packed with excellent places to eat and drink. Bars take on all sorts of guises, from theme bars to café bars and live entertainment spots. International cuisine is well represented in local restaurants, with many a pizzeria alongside Indian, Lebanese, Asian and more. Spanish specialities are well worth seeking out, and a smattering of Michelin Star venues can be found around town if you really want to push the boat out.

The Old Town is also the place for the speciality shops that offer items you won’t find anywhere else. The streets around Plaza de los Naranjos are filled with such artisan stores, selling handmade crafts, clothes, jewellery and the like. Familiar brands are most likely represented at the Puerto Banús marina or the huge La Canada shopping mall, which also offers movies and dining.

If golf is your game, Andalucía boasts more than 100 courses, many of them within easy reach of Marbella. Back in town, you will also find some beautiful parks which are lovely places to take a break. With its historic fountain and botanic gardens, Alameda Park is situated around halfway between the Playa de Venus beach and the Old Town centre. Nearby, look out for the Avenida del Mar with its eye-catching Salvador Dali sculptures.

Staying for a while? The mountainous landscape of the Sierra de las Nieves National Park is well worth an excursion outside the city, and the numerous coastal resorts around the region offer plenty more to keep the family entertained, from theme parks to wildlife parks and intriguing museums.

KIDS

Best Suited For: All Ages

Casa Francia will be a destination the family won’t forget. This supremely stylish villa will score big with the kids thanks to its amazing pool terrace, swish en suite bedrooms and cool chillout areas, including a games room. And with those views, their phones will be full of photos and movies in no time.

Marbella makes a great base for exploring the best of Andalucía, and it’s brimming with great beach clubs and great shopping. You could spend the whole day at La Canada with its dozens of fashion stores, but for something truly original, take them to the Old Town’s one-offs. When you’re all shopped out, take a break in one of the beautiful city parks which are just a stone’s throw away.

There are plenty of ways to see the city, whether you hire bikes, scooters or a Segway, but it’s just as much fun on foot. Boat trips let you view the place from another angle, and with a coast this beautiful it’s well worth climbing aboard.

There are theme parks galore all over Andalucía, with the big water park in Torremolinos, Aqualand, one of the best known. Also worth the trip is Estepona’s Mundo Mania, where kids can enjoy sports, water slides, soft play and all sorts of other activities – it has something for every age and taste. In Benalmádena, Tivoli World offers traditional fairground rides like a ferris wheel and scarier ones like Free Fall. Outside, cable car rides are available too.

If real cars are their thing, they might get a kick out of go-karting around Estepona’s Kartfun track, or you could take the wheel yourself and show them how it’s done. Another good family choice is Aventura Amazonia – at 10km away, it’s conveniently close to Marbella and offers treetop adventure courses and zip-wires to zoom down.

Animal lovers will love the Eco Nature Reserve in Ojen where they can learn about conservation and see creatures in their natural habitat. Estepona’s large safari park, Selwo, and Fuengirola’s Bioparc also offer some wildlife adventures, or try the Sea Life aquarium in Benalmádena.

A longer drive away, to the north of Málaga, the intriguing El Torcal Nature Reserve offers tours of ancient rock formations, which are really worth seeing. You can take a guided or unguided tour, but if you go for the latter, be sure to stick to the designated trails. As long as you do, it’s a great experience and you’ll enjoy some amazing views along the way.

If you’re passing through Málaga, there’s plenty to stop for – in fact, you could spend the whole day there and only scratch the surface. Among the highlights are the contemporary art centre, Pompidou – related to the one in Paris, it often has activities for kids on the agenda. Málaga has many interesting museums, including the Maritime Museum, the Automobile Museum and an Interactive Music Museum – good fun for kids as they can play the instruments as much, and as well, as they like.
