Yhardly is a crisp and contemporary home set in traditional Jamaica, set on Treasure Beach on Jamaica’s south coast, overlooking the sweeping coast on its doorstep.
This sumptuous abode offers a relaxed and low-key tropical idyll, in a particularly tranquil spot, where the sounds of the sea can be heard and the scent of jasmine lingers in the air. In classic Caribbean style, there is an upbeat feel to this airy home, whilst indoor and outdoor living interplay naturally. Sitting back with a rum cocktail on the swinging benches in the evening as the sun sets across the bay will be about as good as it gets.
Whilst being sleek and modern, this home has recurrent local and rustic touches, such as the unique thatch roofed dining gazebo, an ideal space to sit back as a family or group and enjoy the culinary delights prepared by the chef, fragranced by herbs from her own garden.
The interiors blend the same chic, minimalist and understated design, combined with a fresh and neutral palette, offset by rustic style, driftwood shelving, water pipes inside hollow logs, an outdoor shower masquerading as a tree, and a stone garden walkway studded with 500 tiny squares of blue glass that gleam in the sun. The rough-edged driftwood at Yhardly blends charmingly with the crisp, clean lines of this unique home.
With pops of vivid colour, sumptuous fabrics, delightful ethnic patterns, this home has a super relaxed vibe so it – set in secluded tranquillity, with a bohemian grace that is a far-cry from the anonymous resorts. The luscious gardens are a myriad of tropical plants and bright, fragrant blossom.

Location
Treasure Beach, in contrast to the north coast of Jamaica, is less developed and less known for glitzy resorts, more known for its sweeping long beaches, and being a little more bohemian and ‘off-the-beaten’ track than the north. Formerly a fishing village, today this spot is known for its sporting credentials – with the development of a sports park open to everyone from local kids to international sports stars. Venus and Serena Williams have taught tennis on the courts.
True to its name, Treasure Beach is a six-mile stretch of coral-toned and sometimes black sands, hidden coves and rocky crevices. For those seeking a taste of the vibrant local culture, a visit to one of Treasure Beach’s main bays such as Billy’s, Calabash, Fort Charles and Frenchman’s will hit the right note, for less trodden spots.
This part of Jamaica offers a taste of local life – friendly fishermen dock their brightly painted canoes with the day’s catch, and local dishes are aplenty, from curried goat, jerked meat and pumpkin soup from roadside and beachside stands, whilst the clear waters are ideal for snorkelling.
Circa an hour’s drive in-land and visitors will be able to take in the delight that is YS Falls – one of Jamaica’s finest natural offerings, with seven waterfalls, several which cascade into natural pools. A 120-foot cascading waterfall network sits amid 2,000 acres of pastures on a privately-owned estate, owned by the same family for over a century and where thoroughbred race horses and purebred Jamaica Red cattle are reared. With rope swings and zip wires, visitors can whizz through the tropical rainforest canopy overhead enjoying the falls from overhead as well as an adrenaline buzz.
A boat ride through Jamaica’s largest river with a tour of the wetlands and Black River wildlife is a leisurely way to explore this region, whilst Pedro bank is a fascinating bank of sand and underwater heritage which offers shipwrecks, sunken vessels, parrots and colourful fish life.

Jamaica has two international airports, Donald Sangster in Montego Bay and Norman Manley, Kingston.
From the US:
There are many direct flights with Jet Blue, Caribbean, Delta, American and United from cities including New York, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston and Philadelphia.
From the UK:
There are direct flights to Montego Bay from Gatwick and Manchester with American Airlines, British Airways or Virgin Atlantic. Glasgow and Belfast passengers can also fly via the US with United Airlines.

The tranquillity of Yhardly makes it an attractive villa for families with kids but don’t let that fool you. While parents may truly appreciate the R&R that only property such as Yhardly offers, there’s lots of kid-friendly inclusions within Yhardly.
First and foremost, Yhardly sits on a stretch of pristine white sand beach that kids are sure to love. The sea is just a short walk away, making it perfect for snorkelling or using Yhardly’s complimentary water sports gear like boogie boards, fishing rods and kayaks. Your swimming pool is great for kids of all ages with various depths to accommodate their swimming level. A shallow splash area starts the pool before sliding down to a variable depth pool where kids can explore their abilities and grow their confidence.
At the heart of the villa, a family room with cable TV and Apple TV promises hours of entertainment for kids. If you’re in the mood for a movie, or two, a comprehensive movie library is available for your use.
Throughout your stay, Yhardly will be looked after by a full staff who adore and dote on young visitors. In no time at all, you’ll find your kids following the friendly team around asking for songs or to sneak treats from the kitchen. If any of your little ones have any special dietary requirements, just let your chef know and they’ll make whip special dishes just for them.
With the beach right on your doorstep, it’s hard to imagine your kids will want to go anywhere else. But if that does happen, here are a few things they may enjoy in the surrounding area:
Black River Safari
Experience the wild side of Jamaica on a river safari down the iconic Black River, where you’ll see Jamaica’s native crocodiles in their natural habitat. On your safari, your guide will teach kids all about the natural landscape, the animals that live within in and the river’s significance to the island.
Learn a water sport
While Yhardly provides two kayaks for you to use during your stay, a venture down Treasure Beach will open up a world of water sports for your kids to try like windsurfing and paddleboarding. They can also snorkel along the pristine coast, discovering new types of fish and aquatic plant life.
YS Falls
One of Jamaica’s finest natural attractions, kids will love visiting YS Falls. While visiting the falls, kids can climb up to the seven waterfalls to stand beneath their crashing waters before taking a rejuvenating dip in natural spring pools. When not exploring the waterways, a treetop canopy ride zips its way through the falls which kids can use to get a view of the area from above.

Villa Staff included at this property:
A full-time team of 5 comprised of a cook, assistant cook , butler/pool maintenance , housekeeper/laundress and night time security attend exclusively to your villa.
Your cook will handle grocery shopping and meal preparation. They will pre-purchase your first few meals plus pantry staples, then finish the week’s shopping after meeting with you. At week’s end, they will present receipts for all food and beverage and reconcile your account. A typical grocery budget is $55-$65 per adult per day and $20-25 per day for preteens. This may vary up or down depending on market prices and menus.(more luxurious items such as shrimp, lobster, imported meats and Champagne will incur a further charge).
Your cook will also pre-purchase a small starter bar (a few bottles of Red Stripe, moderately-priced wine and rum). Additional alcohol requests will increase your budget. If you wish to go to the various markets with them, you are welcome. Otherwise, simply review your tastes and distastes with them and they’ll handle it all while you stay at the villa and relax.
A nanny can be arranged for an average of $12 per hour. Guests should plan to add approximately $20 per day for food for their nanny.
