A terracotta-hued villa, perched high in the hills of Los Lomas de Mijas, Casa Delma is perfect for a summer getaway. Elegant in style, the villa is spread across two levels with pillars and open sides adding to the character. There is plenty to keep the whole family happy and entertained, with a games room and a gym. Perfect for groups of families or friends travelling together, this villa has five delightful bedrooms and comfortably sleeps 12.
The villa has a spacious private pool that sparkles in the sun – it’s large enough for real swimming. Relax on a sunbed and curl up with a good book. There is also a trampoline and table tennis outside. Stairs lead up to the outside terrace, where guests can enjoy a home-cooked meal with enviable views that stretch across the countryside to the sea.
Breezy, open-plan living is achieved with large glass doors that open out to the garden area. The living space has comfortable leather sofas and an interesting coffee table, all decorated in classic neutral tones. The kitchen is fully equipped, with lots of counter space for preparing ingredients and a silver American fridge with an ice maker. There is a breakfast bar complete with bar stools where guests can grab a quick bite. The kitchen is decorated in a monochrome style.
The gym is perfect for those who like to stay active on holiday – it’s packed with a treadmill, various cardio machines and an array of weights. There’s an endless amount of fun to be had in the games room, which boasts a pool table, arcade games like a pinball machine, table football and a dartboard. Gamers will be pleased to know that there is both a PS2 and PS3 at this villa.
The bedrooms are designed to evoke calm and serenity, with feature walls in colours like lilac and duck egg blue. Simple yet charming, the bedrooms feature a mixture of double and twin beds – except for the bunk room. Perfect for kids, the wooden bunk beds have American flag cushions and a cosy atmosphere.
The villa has a balcony that runs across the upper level of the property. This has several seating areas where guests can enjoy the spectacular views.

Location
This villa is located in the hills of Las Lomas de Mijas, near lots of nature trails and plenty of amenities. The charming village of Mijas Pueblo is just 1km away, where guests can take a horse-drawn carriage through the pueblo. Meanwhile, the beaches, boutiques and nightlife of Fuengirola are just a 10 minute drive away.
In the town, there are chocolate factories to explore and art galleries to discover. Mayan Monkey Mijas is famously one of the smallest chocolate factories in the world – guests can see how the organic chocolate is made and take a class to make their own. From the mountainside, there is a spectacular view of the glittering sea. Culture vultures will love the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo, an art museum that houses the second-largest collection of Picasso ceramics, alongside Dalí’s bronze figurines. The museum also has a rotation of great temporary exhibitions.
Fuengirola beach has 7km of powdery golden coastline, with separate areas for watersports and bathing. The beach is very family friendly and extends from Sohail castle to Torreblanco. There are plenty of chiringuitos, which loosely translates to cafes on the sand. At Fuengirola beach you can go wakeboarding, water-skiing, parasailing or tubing. Dine at one of the dozen renowned eateries and enjoy the buzzing nightlife. Additionally, Fuengirola has many stylish boutiques in the Corta Ingles that fashionistas will love.
Another great beach in Mijas is Butiplaya with dark golden sand, which is relaxing by day and also has great nightlife. Boats can be rented here – swimmers should note that the water has moderate waves.
The Cerrados del Aguila golf resort is part of the Golf Valley of Mijas and offers beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea from most of its courses. Small yet perfectly formed, this golf course excels in 9-hole courses. There is also a restaurant on site. Alternatively, try out Mijas Golf, which was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr and boasts two courses – Los Lagos and Los Olivos. These 18-hole masterpieces have superb views of the surrounding countryside.
La Cala is a lovely boardwalk along the coast, which passes by a 16th-century watchtower. On Saturday and Wednesdays mornings there is a street market where you can hunt out some treasures to take home. In summer, there are lots of open-air concerts held in this area. Culinary delicacies from Mijas to look out for include Maimona, a special type of bread with garlic and oil – and definitely try the area’s fresh seafood.
