Two corners of the room are open to the elements, taking advantage of gentle sea breezes and offering a tantalising glimpse through the palm trees to the dazzling waters beyond.

The timber walkway extends enticingly through a set of double doors, ingeniously forming a bridge across the huge pool to a charming gazebo – a delight during the day, the perfect spot for an aperitif at sundown and simply stunning when illuminated after dark.

When it’s time to chill, choose from a relaxing day bed, a stylish sun lounger or the hypnotic sway of a shady hammock, not to mention a cooling dip in the wonderful pool, complete with whirlpool section for added indulgence.

The large, sociable kitchen is equipped with a central island unit and a full range of modern appliances. On the outside dining patio is a barbecue and pizza oven for simple, home-cooked fare while a private chef is on hand to cater for your group for up to five days a week, preparing mouth-watering dishes from the island’s irresistible array of exotic produce and freshly caught seafood.

The accommodation at Susanna Retreat is exquisite, with all six bedrooms boasting attractive, individually styled ensuite shower rooms, spacious balconies and incredible views. One of the suites is located in the main lodge while the rest are divided between three separate cottages. The ultra-luxurious Yellow Flamboyant suite has a huge decked balcony jutting out over a deep gorge, walls that slide fully back to open up the glorious view and even a sunken Jacuzzi.
