There is a natural indoor-outdoor blend, with the long veranda offering a stylish spot to sit back in the cooling trade winds and enjoy a rum cocktail as the sun softens across the ocean.
The glamorous interiors offer ample lounge space, and an understated yet luxurious dining area for lively group meals of delicious flavours, prepared by the chef, to be enjoyed at the rare tree trunk table for ten, a gorgeous chunk of local Tamarind tree. Location
Benitoite Shore House is nestled on the dazzling north coast of Jamaica, just outside the bustling, colourful town of Ocho Rios. Ochi, as it is known to locals, began as a modest fishing village, and today is a vibrant hub of slick shopping malls, magazine worthy beaches and buzzing nightlife. From white-water rafting to craft shopping, Ochi Rios is a charismatic melting pot of traditional Jamaican life and sleek tourist hubs.
When it comes to dining, there is so much choice; Scotchie is famous for serving the best jerk chicken on the island and it is full of locals. The north of this lush Caribbean island is known for its glitzy developments, crystalline waters and coral reef rich coast, whilst away from the tourist hotspots, there lies a fascinating, colourful culture with music built into its rhythms (birthplace of reggae) and craggy remote mountains through to tropical waterfalls and banana groves.
Dunn River Falls is a star attraction; a spectacular 600-foot waterfall that cuts through a dense emerald forest and spills into sparkling sea waters. Thirty feet offshore, easily reachable by kayak, is the barrier reef complex that covers much of Jamaica’s north coast. Taking a kayak out to the live reef will offer a tropical treat of colourful fish and coral, with snorkelling in shallow water or deeper waters for scuba diving.
Hugging the coastline, there is a dazzling array of beaches to choose from; Turtle Beach curls around the bay, offering sweeping white sands fringed with coconut palms and drinks shacks. Mahogany Beach is a great spot for snorkelling whilst Reggae Beach, offers idyllic seclusion.
The beating pulse of Ochos Rios is Main Street; a busy thoroughfare lined on both sides with restaurants, fast-food chains, shopping centres and craft markets, and at night, comes alive with a vibrant nightlife scene.
Whether it be deserted coastline or hikes inland to hidden waterfalls, magical coral reef journeys, or bubbling local culture intermixed with shiny tourist hubs, live music or water sports, the north coast of Jamaica has it all.

The north coast of Jamaica consists of the diverse parishes of St Mary, St Ann and Trelawny, the gateway to spectacular scenery once visitors venture a little from the resort complexes, and active youngsters will be able to enjoy trekking or hiking in wonderful nature. Taking a trip deep into the sweeping cane and coconut plantations, rolling farmlands, mangrove swamps and craggy terrain will leave lasting memories.
Jamaica offers endless, thrilling outdoor pursuits for children, for older kids zip lining across the island’s rainforests, or younger children will delight at aqua parks and shallow waters beach waters.
One of the picks of the northern coast would be close up dolphin encounters at Dolphin Cove in Ocho Rios, which is immensely popular due to its wide range of appeal to all ages. Villa Staff included at this property:
A full-time dedicated cook, housekeeper, gardener, night watchman and personal laundress attend exclusively to your villa.
Your cook will handle grocery shopping and meal preparation. They will pre-purchase your first few meals plus pantry staples, then finish the week’s shopping after meeting with you. At week’s end, they will present receipts for all food and beverage and reconcile your account. A typical grocery budget is $55-$65 per adult per day and $20-25 per day for preteens. This may vary up or down depending on market prices and menus.(more luxurious items such as shrimp, lobster, imported meats and Champagne will incur a further charge).
Your cook will also pre-purchase a small starter bar (a few bottles of Red Stripe, moderately-priced wine and rum). Additional alcohol requests will increase your budget. If you wish to go to the various markets with them, you are welcome. Otherwise, simply review your tastes and distastes with them and they’ll handle it all while you stay at the villa and relax.
A nanny can be arranged for an average of $12 per hour. Guests should plan to add approximately $20 per day for food for their nanny.
Please note that all extras are subject to availability and must be requested in advance of the holiday (prices on request). Due to some rural/remote locations, not all services will be available at all properties. However, we will always do our best to fulfil your requests!

Villa Conditions
– A 50% deposit may be required for bookings that include Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years Eve.
– A obligatory Gratuity rate of 15% of the overall booking is due to be paid to the Staff before departure. Please plan to pay in Cash (US Dollars or the local currency).
– The villa is home to three beloved dogs. They are friendly and will romp with you in the yard and run with you on the beach. If preferred, they can be kept in their dog pen during the day but they are allowed to roam at night after guests retire.
